Fire the Arrow!!

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have seen a new model on the site, well sort of.

Yesterday we took delivery of a very small quantity of retro gloves, the FL-9, 10 and 11. The glove junkies out there may have spotted they bear more than a passing resemblance to the legendary reusch gloves from the 1990's, this is quite intentional.

The classic Arrow was first seen at Italia World Cup '90, when great keepers such as West Germany's Bodo Illgner sported them.  The keepers were forced, due a FIFA clampdown on logo placements on goalkeeper gloves to cover up the branding adorning their gloves. England's Peter Shilton used tape to cover his logo on his Uhlsport gloves. The German glove meisters at reusch created the Arrow model for their top keepers to wear in the closing stages, staying within the FIFA rules and Illgner went onto lift football biggest prize.

These three models are our tribute to such a great design.
